Samuel Ochieng elected President of CI

Samuel OchiengKenya’s Samuel Ochieng was today elected the first African President of Consumers International at the final session of CI’s World Congress in Sydney.

Mr Ochieng’s appointment comes as the global consumer movement wraps up four days of debate, discussion and action around the theme of holding corporations to account.

On becoming the first African President of Consumers International in the organisation’s 47 years history, Mr Ochieng said:

I am certain that we are on our way to making CI an even stronger global consumer voice. For us to achieve maximum impact, we must focus on our well-targeted priorities.
